Berry Vignette
Culled from an 1909 natural history magazine, this berry vignette makes a bold and dramatic statement. I admit that I’m not sure how it could be used but it fascinates me. It was originally used as a page spacer between two stories in the magazine. I would use it in a similar fashion – to fill a part of a page with something visually interesting instead of plain white space.
The design was done in simple black and white. It could be easily colorized. Maybe make orange or red berries. The leaves remind me a bit of jack-in-the-pulpit or lilies.
Enjoy, have fun and create something awesome.
