Fancy Letter A Images
This group of vintage drop cap images all feature the letter A. They should all be in the public domain in the United States and some may be in the public domain everywhere. They are all from publications printed prior to 1923 – that weird date the United States uses to define things in the public domain. Many of the fancy letter A images are from books posted on Gutenberg.org that may not include copyright information beyond their statement of it being copyright free in the United States. Each image here is accompanied by the date and name of the publication where it was found.
If the source of one of the fancy letter A images included other matching letters, those letters are listed and linked to for your convenience.
