Hanging Wallpaper – Part 2
This is the second of a five part series of vintage drawings providing instruction on how to hang wallpaper.
It is from a 1906 wallpaper catalog from Sears, Roebuck and Company. The catalog contained samples of their wallpapers as well as a detailed and illustrated set of instructions on hanging wallpaper.
This particular illustration shows our intrepid wallpaper hanger trimming the side of the paper to size; clever using the edge of a board to ensure a straight cut. He has the bucket of wallpaper paste strategically placed to provide easy access while working with the paper.
One open and several unopened rolls of wallpaper lay on the floor waiting to be cut to size.
The first illustration in this series can be found here – Hanging Wallpaper – Part 1.
