Vintage Border Frame
This vintage border frame surrounded a portrait of one of The Women of The American Revolution. A number of those brave ladies were included in a two-volume work from 1900. The publisher used three of these frames – the other two are both double oval frames – oval frame 1 and oval frame 2.
There is a bit of natural shading from top to bottom; probably created by a bit of natural discoloration that comes from something being over 100 years old.
The frame is just a little smaller than would be needed for a 4 x 6 inch photo. You could this vintage border frame to honor your own treasured women in your life.
With the slight distressing and the old-style appearance, this would look great in a scrapbook framing a sepia photograph or one of an ancestor from another era.
